Hi, it's Dr. Amit. And thanks again for joining me in the curious mind online course. Today I'm going to tell you how your digestive system works. And why is the seat of your health and relate to mental health as well as physical health. So your stomach and your intestines, your intestines are looking nice to nice lining inside, right. And that's kept healthy by good bacteria and good foods.
Over time when you eat antibiotics, for diet, inflammatory foods, too much wheat, dairy, coffee, sugar, alcohol, what happens is the good bacteria get killed off and the lining of your intestines, it gets damaged, right? And so you get holes and you get holes in your intestines. through these holes, a lot of toxins then go into your bloodstream and this causes inflammation throughout your body. This inflammation is the leading cause for asthma, emphysema, arthritis, as well as anxiety, depression. And I'll tell you why. The inflammation causes a cortisol imbalance and the cortisol imbalance suppresses Gabba surge.
And melatonin, dopamine, all your feel good chemicals. So, if you want to heal your gut, the first step is always to remove inflammatory foods. Typically it's wheat, dairy, coffee, sugar, alcohol and beef. And I use a special amino acid called glutamine, which is like the food, the fuel for your intestinal cells to repair much faster that way. And then add vitamin D, especially if you're low because vitamin D helps the valve between your large and small intestine work much better. So it keeps the environment of your small intestine and large intestine separate.
That means the right bacteria grow in the right places. The fourth thing you got to add is a nice omega three omega six oils, because this helps reduce inflammation suit the membranes down and it'll really help the repair process go much faster. So thanks again for joining me and we'll see you on the next video.
