In this section we will be talking about the application layer. We have just completed the transport layer and we discussed the protocols inside it. And now we are here application. So, we will be covering all the popular protocols in this layer. And let me just demonstrate them for you quickly. We will start off with the popular HTTP methods namely get floods and post flood.

We will also discuss another creative attack I would say a creative DDoS attack which is slow HTTP. We will cover different DNS attack vectors, more specifically DNS amplification, DNS floods and the memcached. We will then continue with the remaining protocols and TP charging RTP and ssdp as they are being the most popular DDoS attack vectors.
