Welcome to the protection and mitigation section in this section as opposed to previous sections, I will not be covering the DDoS attacks per attack type or per attack vector. But rather, I'll take all of your infrastructure as a whole into account. And then I will provide the protection methods and mitigation methods component by component. In other words, you can consider this section as a set of general advices and best practices for protecting your environment against DDoS. We will start with proper firewall configuration settings. Then we will go through rate controls, which we briefly discussed already.

But here in this section, we will cover it more deeply. Then we are going to talk about proper load balancer and router configurations. And finally, I'm going to mention a few words on testing your web services against DDoS.
