In this lesson, we are going to talk about the three pillars of Scrum. Before we get into the three pillars, I'm actually going to go to a slide that we have gone through in a previous lesson to make the connection with the three pillars. So if you remember, we talked about some definition. And when we went through the sub definition we talked about it's a framework. Scrum is a framework within which people can address complex adaptive problems, while productively and creatively delivering products at the highest possible value. So they are delivering the products at the highest possible value, how they're doing it by using a framework to address a complex adaptive problem.

So the two areas that we focused on last time was basically what is a framework and what is a context for that problem, if you remember, we talked about we went through that framework. It's a loose structure, which leaves room for practices and tools, but includes most of the processes, processes. And a complex adaptive problem is a problem which is not very well understood and must be explored and understood through transparency, inspection and adaptation. And these transparency, inspection and adaptation, actually from the three pillars of Scrum, transparency, inspection and adaptation, we are going to explore a little bit each of these areas in to see how it relates to Scrum. So, first is transparency. transparency.

Basically what it means is that it's it provides us a significant aspect of the the processes must be visible to those responsible for the outcome. So what it started stating You know simply is basically people who are responsible for the outcome need to be able to see what are the significant aspects of the process itself. We need to use a common language in referring to the process and that must be shared amongst all the participants and those performing the work and those inspecting the result must share a common definition of what the word done means. So, again, transparency is based on three points, that the people the first one is the people that are responsible for the outcome need to have visibility on the significant aspects of the process. Everybody needs to speak a common language. Everybody needs to understand what the word done means.

Inspection. So, this is the second pillar of scum Basically, it states that Scrum users must frequently inspect Scrum artifacts and progress towards a sprint goal to detect undesirable variances. As you can imagine, as you as you have heard a little bit before that, basically at the end of every sprint is a demo. And so you're basically inspecting the product, not just within the development of the QA teams, but with the customer, if you will, so, but there are even more detections or inspections that are done within the sprint in order to make sure that the quality as you're building the product, this is actually what you what you need, if you detect and under undesirable variants, you fix it as soon as possible. The second thing that inspection states is that the inspection should not get so frequent, that the inspections are getting in the way of off the roof.

So there needs to be a bit be a balance of act of inspecting the product and actually building the product. If you To keep the momentum going adaptations, which is the third pillar of scum, basically it states that if an inspector determines that one or more aspects of the process deviate outside acceptable limits, and so if they do, then they basically need to fix this as soon as possible. Okay, so that's kind of what what it's stating, and I just checked must be made as soon as possible to minimize for the deviation. So if you remember or if you if you've known from experiences, if you will, the more you delay the fixing of something during a project, the more expensive it becomes. So that's why freakin frequent inspections to make sure that you know, everything's is within the product is within the spec and then also adapting if it is not if you go to make sure that you know the fixes is applied as soon as possible to minimize the wasting of the effort.
