What is Jnana Yoga?
Jnana is a Sanskrita word for &lsquo;knowledge or wisdom&rsquo;. Yoga is the path, means and goal to Self-realisation or Atma-Jnana. Jnana Yoga is a path of Swadhyaya, Satsanga and Self-Enquiry to attain this absolute wisdom or knowledge of Self or Atman and experience it through meditation. Ultimately Jnana Yoga is known to be the &ldquo;realization of awareness of absolute consciousness,&rdquo; and primarily comprises of Swadhayaya (introspection), Satsanga (acquiring knowledge of self from Guru, Scripture and companionship of truth seekers), and Atma-Chintan or contemplation or self-inquiry.
The Jnana Yoga deals with mind and its nature, the process of creation, evolution and involution, duality (Davaitism &ndash; Self and Supreme Self as separate identity) and non-duality (Advaitism &ndash; oneness of the Self and Supreme Self).
