Okay, so in the last lecture, I created the second cut sequence, and I show you my trick of how to reduce all the time in the sequence into a shorter, shorter, shorter piece. I have now much more narrow bit of only the visuals. Now I want to implant a nice soundtrack, which to my face suits the atmosphere of this corporate little video or promo so I downloaded a little soundtrack from the internet which is legal, of course, it's called warm summer 60 seconds, point w. v, which stands for WAV file. I will drag and drop This WAV file into the timeline into the audio part of the timeline, which is the bottom part, which you can see now is completely empty. So I opened a new sequence and I call it interviews. I select only the files, which I need from the interviews and I placed them into the timeline.

These files from the interviews. Now I'm scrolling through and I'm trying to listen to what my subject had to say. I'm looking for the right exposure in the right moments, but it's all about the content of what our subject actually was talking about. I like if I like certain moments or seconds when our subject is smiling and looking happy. But that is content related, of course. Okay, as I did before in the visuals, I'm also splicing just the good parts from the interview.

They stuff which I found helps me to take my story forward. I take them one level up and separate them from the rest of the junk footage I don't really need for this project. Now I'm going to do a different method. I'm not going to delete all the rest and lock a specific layer. I'm just going to select them by circling them with a square it it's very easy to select them because they are separated in v2 layer and in v1 layer. I press Command C in Mac Oracle Ctrl C in PC and copy this information and I'm going to paste it into the into surf school promo second cut, creating a nice platform, which by dragging and dropping all the clips in a different layer.

If you noticed I lower the level of the sound here a little bit by choosing this pen tool here and marking two spots on the sound level and dropping and dragging and dropping one of them to the lower. This way I can manage to automate the music in order that it won't interfere with my already not so good sound that I've captured during the the camera workshop. Everything is aligned together. I'm doing a little fiddling here and there, but mostly it is pretty good. After I satisfied with the way the interview and the music are working, I start to drag and drop the visuals. I take the visuals which I find the best and placing them above the interview video layer.

Where I want to see my subject I don't place anything. But if I prefer to have a voiceover of my subject and a visual, I place a visual on top of my subject and in that way, you don't see the subject you only hear his voice Okay now I placed as you can see, it is very, very easy. I placed all the visuals in v2, the interviews in v1. And in the sound part, I put the music in a one audio one and the interview voice in a tube. So it is very logical and easy to understand. And this part here when you can see the violet part in a two layer, I placed some in a sound of the ocean just of the waves without my subjects speaking because it was very loud and dominant in the sound and when he is not speaking at all.

You can hear clearly that something is missing. So This is what we professional call a room tone. This is a sound of the area which was the scene recorded in. So you can fill in the blanks by using this room tone here. I make some desserts dissolves to make everything cut smoothly. I start by generating some dissolves in the beginning of the clip.

And this is by going to effects and choosing constant power dissolve or a constant power transition in the audio transition and deep to black or cross dissolve in the video transition in under dissolves. It dissolves dissolves helped me to smooth that transition between the cuts Not only individually but also in the sound. In the next lecture, I will show you how to make the final adjustment and the final cut for this video.
