Hello everyone, welcome to the course of machine learning with Python. In this particular video, we'll be covering how to install Anaconda distribution and how to use Jupiter notebook for coding in Python. If you go to the official website of Anaconda distribution which is mentioned over here you can see there is an option for download Okay, so depending upon your systems configuration, you can either install Windows version of it Mac OS version of it on it as much as I am using Windows operating system, so I will be using Windows Installer now there is Python 3.7 version as well as Python 2.7 version. In this particular course we'll be using Python 3.7 so depending upon your systems configuration, either you download 64 bit graphical installer under Python 3.7 or 32 bit graphical installer most modern system comes with 64 bit operating system so if you click on the 64 bit graphical installer, you will be prompted to save this particular EFC file which is a 46 MB in size.

CUDA location in new habits Now note that this file size is quite large depending upon your internet speed it may take a while so I have already installed Anaconda distribution in my system so I'm not saving this after setting you can click on the run button and follow the instructions to install the Anaconda distribution in your system. Okay, now after Anaconda distribution is installed in your system, you just type Anaconda navigator in your run command and a green icon like this will be popped up okay. So if you click on this green icon, you will be seeing a screen like this. Okay, so this is basically the Anaconda navigator application. Now inside this application you can see a lot of options like Jupiter lab, Jupiter notebook, Qt console, Spyder VS code, etc, etc. Now, we shall be using Jupiter notebook for our course.

So you can go to the Launch button of Jupiter notebook or you can again type Anaconda From your run, and click Enter. Now you can go to the folder location as per your wish. So here, I'll be going to the stop and then by turn, okay, and then type Jupiter notebook from the command prompt. If you click on this, you will be redirected to your default web browser. Okay, so in my case it is Microsoft age. In your case, it could be Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, so don't worry, you will be redirected to your default browser.

Okay. Now, this Jupiter notebook is basically browser based ID. Okay. Now, you can see here, there's so many options. Right now there is a drop down button. If you click on this, you can create a notebook of Python three, if you click on this, you will be redirected to the other tab of your default web browser.

And this is basically But we call that Jupiter notebook. Okay, now as you can see the title of the Jupiter notebook is untitled, we can always rename it just by clicking we can make these as, let's see, Jupiter notebook introduction, okay Okay, so now to rename that Jupiter notebook introduction if you go to the Home tab you can see that there is already a file called Jupiter underscore notebook underscore introduction.ip and the file is created. So this.pi pi MP is basically stands for interactive Python notebook. Okay, so let's begin our journey to explore how Jupiter notebook works okay, so this particular rectangle you see is called that said the Jupiter note Okay, so this cell is basically of two types one is called the Koertzen and another one is called matassa. Okay, now you can see in this drop down, it is mentioned as code convert it to the markdown or You can convert to this is a markdown set.

How do we want identify the amount of so you can see that there is no third bracket here. If you convert it to the court sale, you can see there is a bracket here, okay? You can always use shortcut keys like escape plus in for mom Don't fall for tomato and escape why for not to court okay and she class enter for running a particular Okay, so this is a code set so by default of course it will be created fine now if you press it Escape in it will be converted to markdown if you press escape one, it will be converted to code so from code to markdown is there in and from markdown code escape one to run a cell, you press Shift Enter or Alt enter. Okay, now let's it how do we code simple Python coding inside the Jupiter notebook. So, to execute Python code inside the Jupiter notebook, you have to make sure that you are putting under the code cell Okay, so let's say I just write a simple Python program just to type my name for five times let's say for i in range five print Okay.

Now, the beauty of Jupiter notebook is the output of a particular cell will be printed just below it okay. So this is basically the output of the execution of this particular cell fine. So similarly, we can put any Python script in this particular state And then we can press Shift Enter to run that particular set. Okay, so let's say a equals to 2.5 and b equals to 3.7, then a to b, okay? So it will produce output nine, four to five, which is nothing but the product of a and b fine. Now we'll see how we can use the map themselves.

So as I said, to convert from code to markdown, you have to press escape, okay. Now, this markdown cell is basically used for commenting your code in a very interactive and user friendly way. So for example, if you begin a monster with hash which is basically heading one, okay, double hash means Heading Two. Note that how the font size is decreasing triple hazards heading three for hashes, lists, headings, four and Sobhuza Okay, so as you can see the false sense of Heading One is the maximum and followed by density visit form says as we include more hashes to denote the heading okay except pity we can also type in text for example, this is example of Jupiter notebook, markdown, press Shift Enter and this will be nothing but a string or just a comment. Okay, now there is a lot more thing you can do with the markdown for example, for example, you can actually hide create a hypertext link.

For example, let's say Anaconda distribution can be found here. Now if you enclose here within the top bracket, and just after this, within these parentheses, you just copy this He will test it and then shift enter. So this here is basically hypertext. Okay. If you click on this here, you will be redirected to the website that it's pointing fine. So that is the beauty of markdown.

Similarly, we can actually create a list for example, my to do list to item, then go to the next a start. Okay, this shift enter, we can see that a list or a bulleted text has been okay. So these are Beauty of markdown. Apart from that you can also create netic light equations in the model. So for that you have to include your lattic like equation within the one data set. Okay, so you have to type your equations within this double dollar sign.

For example, let's say I just Type R I pass, that's a fraction of C then integration c minus infinity to D I bow He wants to see if he if I press Shift Enter, we'll be creating a beautiful expression like this. Okay, All righty, plus one. Let's see integration minus infinity to t. I don't know because 250 Okay, so we can do a lot more stuff using Jupiter notebook. We'll be seeing a lot of these as we move forward to our course. Meanwhile, I will suggest the students to go through the official website of Jupiter notebook and Anaconda distribution and find out what are the steps that we can do with Jupiter notebook apart from the simple coding and the simple markdown that I have shown over here in the next lectures. We'll be exploring few Python packages.

Okay, so I will start with NumPy, which is the backbone of numerical computation in Python two in the next lecture. Thank you.
