DESCRIPTION:
False take, as the term already implies, is when you pretend or simulate to pick up an object but in reality, you don't. You leave it where it was in the first place. Similarly, The False transfer is where you transfer something from one hand to the other, but in the action you retain the object, Simulating that you put it on the other hand.
False takes and false transfers are a very important part of misdirection and holding out because, as you direct people's attention to what you did not take, it has to seem like you did take it.
So, for instance, if I have this coin in my hands and I'm going to take it and put it closer to your eyes and make it vanish, everything's justified because I'm showing you the coin with this hand and I'm picking it up with the other hand to bring it closer to you. But in the process your brain thinks I pick it up because my movements were of a person picking it up but in reality, I didn't.
I just imitated the exact same movement. Real take -- False...
