DESCRIPTION:
Okay now, to talk about Productions and vanishes is to talk about, what in my opinion, is one of the fundamental cores of magic. To merely take an object, show it to somebody, or an audience, and make it completely disappear, show your hands clearly empty, empty, and then make it reappear again, right in front of somebody's eyes, directly under their nose, is one of the most powerful things you can achieve in magic.
In order for you to cause the illusion that an object vanished you have to take into account many different principles. One of the principles I use most is called the retention of vision.
That's when a person sees you move a certain familiar way which they've already seen you move and it enables you to, for instance, do a false take and make something vanish.
In a French drop, for instance, the performer shows the audience an object, usually a coin, and proceeds to pick it up with the other hand and make it disappear.
As the magician is covering the coin in the act...
