How to work out your own body fat percentage?
1. Tape Measure
A basic way to measure body fat % is by using a soft tape measure, like the kind a tailor uses, to record measurements of different parts of the body. For this method, you’ll also need to know your height in inches.
If you’re a man, measure the circumference of your:

neck
abdomen.

If you’re a woman, you should record a measurement of the circumference of your:

Neck,
Natural Waist (Widest area between top of hip bone and bottom of rib cage),
Hips.

You can use this online Navy Body Fat Calculator to obtain your estimated body fat %.
Tips:

When the tape is placed over the skin, it should make contact but not compress the skin in any way.
Measure each area at the widest part
Take all measurements twice and average them. Then record to the nearest half inch (or you can use Metric measuements (cm)).
