Hello, this is Rob here, I just wanted to make a video to include some of the things that I've left out of the course. And some things that have cropped up that I think I need to either remind you about or to say for the first time. So, first of all, steam it, I hope you're enjoying it, hope you're enjoying the course, it's a great way to get out there and create content on a social media platform, and hopefully earn a little bit of money, as long as you put a little bit of time into creating great content and engaging with people who are relevant to your content. So the first thing to remember is to create good content. It doesn't have to be epic. It doesn't have to be those big 1000 2000 word articles that you do on your blog to get Google traffic, they can be quite short.

So let's have a look at this one. Hear it's had 71 upvotes and made over $120 for the person who wrote it, and it's not even 500 words. Now, there's a lot of interesting imagery here. But, you know, you could put that together in half an hour. But the point of it is, is its original, original content, I don't think I've stressed that enough in the rest of the course you must make original content. Now, I tend to put a lot of my YouTube videos up as steam it posts but I also accompany that with original text and original images as well.

So good quality, original content within your niche that you're interested in. And then promote that content by engaging with people on the platform or on steam it chats or on the PA l discord channels that I talked about in the video. Post promotion, engage with people there and then you'll get the followers, you'll get followers because they will be interested in seeing your content in their home feed. Because that's why you're going to follow people. I'm following people here who are creating content about things. I'm interested in Bitcoin, Cambodia travel, that sort of thing.

That's what I'm interested in. So I don't think it's a good idea to ask people to follow you. Don't say to someone, I've followed you, so can you follow me please? I don't think that's a good idea. I'm not saying it's wrong. But in the interview with live now and well on the course, that's the long 20 minute video.

You may not have watched that but we do discuss that that's probably not something that we are going to do so please don't ask me to follow you. If you connect with me on steam it I will follow people who are creating content that I find interesting, so I can then read it when I love Get into steam it and have a look at my feed. So that's another thing to mention. Another thing to mention I completely forgot this in the course, is I meant I talked about voting up you like something so you voted up, you click here, you can also vote something down. only do this if it's spam, you see this flag, you can flag content there. And that's a vote down.

So that's not if you think it's if you disagree with the opinion of the content writer, the steam Ian, I would only flag something if it was spam. And also you can flag comments as well only flag them if they're spam. I hardly ever I've only used it once. I think I only use my up votes about 10 a day to upvote content and comments that I find very valuable. That's the whole point of steam it so that was another point about the flagging there's another point about the wallet that didn't mention, I've got some steam power to redeem there, I'll just put that in that'll add to my steam power, of course. Okay, there it's gone in.

Now your wallet might look a little bit different in that you may have a figure in parentheses here. And that's because the beauty of steam is you can get started with no money. In case you're wondering, I have decided to invest in steam myself personally, and I've put that investment here on my wallet because it will earn interest. And I believe in the steam it platform and I believe in the steam currency, but I'm not giving any investment advice to you at all, this is only what I'm doing. So you quite rightly might want to start with nothing. And I think that's absolutely fine.

Definitely not saying you should invest in steam. But if you start with nothing, then steam has to give you something in In order to get started, so they will lend you, in effect some money. So you may be seeing numbers here in brackets, that means that's money that's lent to you. And then when you go on, create more content, get up votes and earn steam, then you will automatically pay back that money. And then your balance will grow and grow from the red to the black, so to speak. So if you're seeing these figures in parentheses here in your wallet, that's what they are there for.

Okay, last thing to show you. And that's here, the public profile settings. Now, since I made the course steam, it has given us an opportunity to add an image here, which they're calling the cover image URL. Now I've created an image. I don't know if it's going to work or not, but it's 1354 pixels wide and over 300 pixels high. I don't know how it's gonna that's gonna crop in.

So I'm just gonna have a look at that. Now. Go to post image.org to upload my image here. Let's copy that link, put it in there and updates. And there it is, I'm not sure if I like that too much, I think it has cropped it maybe a little bit too low on the top of the horizon there. So I maybe want to change that a little bit and take some off the bottom of the image.

So I get that horizon in. But I'll do that again. That's another point. So I hope you enjoyed this video. Lots of different stuff here that was either left out of the course, or things that I feel like I need to repeat or emphasize as a result of having made the course but I'm really enjoying the feedback I'm getting from you guys.
