DESCRIPTION:

Hypothesis Testing
Verifica delle ipotesi

So, up at the top, we're looking at an alpha of 5% --a "significant" result.Alright, what are our chances here? Well, we look at our F number, which is 7.15, and it's bigger than the critical F. And so that means that these six samples are giving us a significant F at 95% certainty.Let's take a look at what happens at 1%.Well, there we’ve got that same 7.15 alpha, but it's not as big as the critical F, and so we have a significant result here at 95%, but not a highly significant result. We didn't make the cut for 99% certainty.Well, what do we do? Well, one thing we can do is take more samples. So let's try an n of 12.
Alright, now here's the table, and now our alpha gives us a bigger F, and it's not only significant 95%,, but it's also highly significant at that 99% level. And that's the power of adding more samples. So why not go for absolute certainty? Why don't we just get completely sure?Well, the first reason is that there is...
