DESCRIPTION: Montag MondayDienstag TuesdayMittwoch WednesdayDonnerstag ThursdayFreitag FridaySamstag / Sonnabend* SaturdaySonntag Sunday
Sonnabend is only used in the North of Germany.
We say am Montag or montages to tell you when we do something. Montagsmeans that you are doing something regularly (every Monday), while am Montagcan mean regularly ‒ or only once:**Montags ist immer die Hölle los. (every Monday)Am Montag ist die Hölle los. (every Monday)Am Montag bin ich mit Jochen allein. (only once)
Same with montages. In the South of Germany, we only say am Montag. To stress that we mean every Monday, we can add something like immer:Am Montag ist immer die Hölle los.
