Past tense with war
As in English, there are several ways of expressing that something happened in the past, for example, simple past&nbsp;(I went),&nbsp;present perfect&nbsp;(I have gone), and so on. But you don&lsquo;t need to know all of them to make yourself understood. Let&lsquo;s start with the simple past for just one verb,&nbsp;sein&nbsp;(to be):ich&nbsp;war_du&nbsp;warster&nbsp;war_,&nbsp;sie&nbsp;war_,&nbsp;es&nbsp;war_wir&nbsp;warenihr&nbsp;wartsie&nbsp;warenFor example:Ich war in Berlin.= I was in Berlin.
