When a book is published, people can find it on a retailer's web site or in a local bookstore. Magazines and literary journals don't have an "automatic find" ability, so it's up to you.

People likely won't buy the magazine, though you can let them know where to read the article online, when possible. However, even if folks can't read your story immediately, you know people who would like to be aware your words are out there.
